Spring checklist 2024

The weather is warming up and today is the official first day of spring.  We have put together a list of important things you should inspect on and around your roof this spring to keep your roof in good condition or find concerns that have come about from the harsh winter months.  Inspection and attention to your roof this spring and every spring can help prevent costly repairs and help you get the most longevity out of your roof.

  1. Inspect your roof for missing or damaged shingles.
  2. Check the flashing on your roof and around chimney for signs of damage.
  3. It is important to get into your attic to look for signs of small leaks, water damage, signs of mildew, wood rot, holes, or light shining through.
  4. It is important to make sure your gutters are clear.  Gutters are meant to carry rainwater from your roof and away from your home and if they are not clear, this can cause damage to the shingles, roof or even cause issues in other areas of your home with flooding.
  5. If you have trees around your home, please make sure to trim tree branches that are hanging over your roof to prevent damage from debris, branches falling or potential mold growth,

Of course, with every roof inspection, we recommend safety first.  If you feel unsteady or unsafe to inspect your roof or have any questions on findings of your spring inspection of your roof, we are happy to come provide a free assessment of your roof.  Reach out today with any questions or concerns.
